On February 20, 2018, Gusevo Valve Plant Gusar put into operation a new foundry in Gus-Khrustalny, Vladimir Region, with an annual capacity of up to 8,000 tons of steel. The combined investment in the project amounted to RUB 1.7 billion. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Mr. Vasily Osmakov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Mr. Sergey Katyrin, Governor of Vladimir Region Ms. Svetlana Orlova, department heads of the regional government, city government of Gus-Khrustalny, representatives of Russia’s largest corporations, and many others.
The new foundry will supply "Gusar — the leading Russian manufacturer of stop valves — with high-quality wedge and slide gate valve workpieces meeting all applicable standards and specifications. "Gus-Khrustalny is becoming a leader in the manufacture of pipeline valves and fittings. Today we can say with confidence that we are capable of competing globally, including through our import substitution programs. It is extremely important that Russian smelters continue to implement major projects creating high-tech jobs and securing the flow of funds to regional and local budgets. Gusar products will help Russian oil and gas companies in the implementation of offshore projects and in the development of Arctic oil and gas fields," commented Ms. Svetlana Orlova.
