A New Church Built in Gus-Khrustalny

On May 22, the St. Nicholas Church was consecrated in Gus-Khrustalny, built thanks to a donation by the founders of Gusar LLC and their families, as well as donations by employees and parishioners.
The consecration ceremony was attended by Mr. Alexander Trutnev, Vice-Governor of Vladimir Region, Mr. Vyacheslav Kartukhin, Deputy Chair of the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Igor Pantyushin, Public Prosecutor of Vladimir Region, Mr. Alexey Sokolov, Mayor of Gus-Khrustalny District, residents and visitors of Gus-Khrustalny. The honorary guest of the ceremony was Father David from the Athonite Monastery. He brought a piece of the relics of St. Nicholas, kept in Bari, Italy, and an ancient icon of the saint. The service was conducted by Metropolitan Evlogiy of Vladimir and Suzdal.
“It is important that the younger generation and all of us live an honest life, believe in the best, be merciful and help those who need help. We must not forget about our souls, and building a temple is an opportunity to be alone with oneself, cleanse ourselves spiritually, calm down and gather our thoughts," said Mr. Alexander Berezkin, CEO at Gusar LLC.
In July 2016, the construction site of the church was consecrated and the first stone was laid, and in May 2018, the St. Nicholas church opened its doors to the community’s believers. The interior of the church was painted by iconographers from Murom Diocese. The paintings follow the Moscow iconography style of the times of Andrey Rublev, distinguished by its laconicism, restraint, simplicity, and harmony of ornaments.
The new church complex in Gus-Khrustalny includes a Sunday school building and a utility building. A park has been laid out around the church, a chapel and a gazebo were built.
